What makes working at UW Bothell rewarding?

It is a privilege to be a part of student’s journeys. I love accompanying UW Bothell students on their path to realize their right to education and their academic and career goals. As a former UW Bothell graduate student, I can personally attest to the positive experience students will have at UW Bothell. It is exciting to be a part of higher education, which in every sense can become a transformative experience for students.

What is the best advice you can give a new student?

Follow your heart. Do not let anyone tell you no. You can realize your dreams and more. You have much more strength and potential than you even know! If you work hard, are pro-active, and capitalize on your strengths, there is no stopping you. Seek out help – talk to people! I strongly encourage students to complete informational interviews and actively seek out information, contacts and connections. The vast amount of knowledge and ideas in the world is so exciting – you just have to tap into it! Never underestimate the power and beauty of your dreams and your potential. Never let anyone define your life but you. You have the power over your future, and no one can put you down but yourself. You possess the most important factor in your life: your attitude.

What do you consider the main attraction at UW Bothell?

UW Bothell students are given amazing support from faculty and staff. Professors support students in independent research and pursuing their unique goals. UW Bothell is very innovative and flexible enough to support a wide variety of academic and career interests. UW Bothell has endless opportunities: an amazing Career Center connecting students to internships and career opportunities, extensive study abroad options, opportunities for student leadership and development, and so much more. The individualized education of UW Bothell combined with the world-class resources and opportunities of the University of Washington system provides students every opportunity to thrive.

Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it now.
Boldness has genius, power and inspiration. Goethe
