Veronica's Student Profile
Class of 2010
Hometown: Fontana, CA
Major? I chose Business Administration because of my interest in finance and problem solving. Now I look forward to completing my degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems in order to help businesses with computer advancements.
Minor? I am pursuing a Human Rights because I want to have the opportunity to work with organizations that raises awareness of Women’s Rights and Domestic Abuse.
Campus involvement: I am a member of the Human Rights Action Group. We plan an event for every month with the purpose to bring Human Rights awareness to UW Bothell. When I am not on campus I work at Bank of America as a Senior Teller.
How did UW Bothell help you transition from high school to college? Freshmen orientation was very helpful in introducing me to UW Bothell. Some students I met at orientation were also in my Discovery Core classes, and recognizing faces on the first day of school was a relief. Also, when I had questions, the CUSP office was my go-to place.
What do you like best about UW Bothell? Being a small campus, UW Bothell is perfect for advertising student club events. With the commons, hallways and bulletin boards full of event flyers, students will always find something to do on campus.
Advice for new students- With the small classroom sizes, professors like to do group discussions. Don’t be afraid to participate and be open-minded to other people’s ideas. The combination of different ideas makes for good discussion.
