Jennifer's Student Profile
Class of 2011
Hometown: Duvall, WA
Major: IAS with a concentration in Science, Technology, and Society
Involvement/ Activities/Internships/Work/Volunteering: I am the captain of the co-ed indoor soccer team here at UW Bothell and I was also an orientation advisor. I volunteer for the freshman preview days; I sit on a student panel and help to answer questions that incoming parents and students have about UW Bothell. I have also given tours of the campus to interested freshmen. What do you like best about UW Bothell? What I like best about UW Bothell is how you get to know almost everyone that walks down the promenade. One day when I was going to the library to get a book, it took me 30 minutes to get there because I saw three to four people who I had to stop and talk to. I love the community feeling I get every time I come to school.
What’s next? I plan to get a Master in Education to become a teacher. I am not sure which level of education I would like to teach, but I think I want to be a math or science teacher. Then I plan on enjoying life to the fullest!
Advice for new students My advice would be to keep on top of your studies. If you get behind it gets harder to catch up. It is a good idea to plan a time everyday to sit down and do homework. If you struggle with something make sure you talk to your professor and they will be happy to help.
What’s your favorite quote? “Patience is a Virtue, Virtue is a Grace. Put them both together and Have a Happy Face.” –Great Grandpa Cooley
