When can I start at UW Bothell?

International first-years and transfer students can apply for autumn quarter (September start), winter quarter (January start),  spring quarter (March start), and summer quarter (June start).

*Note: Some majors only accept transfer students in specific quarters.  Please check the application deadline page for details about transfer admission.

What does the UW Bothell diploma say?

When you graduate from the University of Washington Bothell, the top of the diploma says "The University of Washington".

What is the TOEFL and IELTS requirement to fulfill the English proficiency requirement?

Am I eligible for financial aid?

International students are not eligible for financial aid but scholarships may be available. F-1 students can apply for on-campus jobs and work up to 19.5 hours a week.

When will I receive my I-20?

University of Washington Bothell or A-IEP students will receive their I-20 after submitting the I-20 Request Form.  Direct to ISS “next-steps” pages.

The UW Bothell application is due before I finish my coursework. What do I do?

Please list the courses you are currently taking in the online application. When you complete the classes you are currently taking you will need to submit another official transcript showing the grades you received in those classes. It is important that you continue to perform well in those classes as the University of Washington Bothell reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission based on your performance in those classes.

How do I know which application I should use?

• First-year: An applicant who has not attended a university or college.
Transfer: An applicant who has attended university or college.
Graduate and Post-baccalaureate: An applicant who has earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree.

How can I pay the application fee?

You can pay by credit card online after you submit the online application. 

When can I expect a notice of admission?

You will receive an admission decision about one month after applying.

How can I check the status of my application?

Upon submission of a complete application, a letter will be mailed to you with information to create a MyUW account. After you create a MyUW account you will be able to check the status of your application online.

How do I secure my admission at the University of Washington Bothell?

To secure your place at the University of Washington Bothell please return the confirmation form and a $100 deposit.
