The following are Merit Scholarships that we can offer to prospective high school students.

Washington State Resident Scholarships
First-Year applicants are automatically considered for a Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship for 2014-15 if their application for admission is submitted by the priority filing date of January 15, 2014. Students awarded merit scholarships will be notified in writing following their offer of admission for Fall 2014. All merit scholars must accept their award by the May 1 confirmation date (or the date included on the award letter).
Chancellor’s $10,000 Merit Scholarship
Applicants are automatically awarded a $10,000 scholarship for 2014-15 if they have a 3.8 cumulative GPA or higher and a SAT combined (CR & M) score of 1300 or higher or ACT score of 30 or higher.
Chancellor’s $5,000 Merit Scholarship
Applicants are automatically considered for a $5,000 scholarship if they have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher and a SAT combined (CR & M) score of 1000 or higher or ACT score of 22 or higher.
The $5,000 merit scholarships are awarded based on a holistic review process, which takes into consideration academic performance and preparation (rigor of curriculum, GPA, test scores, and grade trends) in combination with extra-curricular activities and leadership skills.
Applicants must be a U.S. Citizens and a current resident of Washington State.
Merit scholarships are subject to change annually.
Out of State Resident Scholarships
The UW Bothell Purple and Gold Scholar Awards are available for U.S. residents from outside the state of Washington who have demonstrated extraordinary scholarship and aptitude. No separate application is required!
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Be a non-Washington state resident and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Submit your completed application for admission to UW Bothell by January 15
Be admitted as a first-time freshman
Purple Scholar Award
Students may be awarded up to $7,000 for students with a 3.0 to 3.49 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum 1000 SAT (Critical Reading + Math) or 22 ACT score.
Gold Scholar Award
Students may be awarded up to $15,000 for students with a 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and a minimum 1100 SAT (Critical Reading + Math) or 24 ACT score.
* Transfer college credit GPA must be equal to or higher.
You may renew the Purple & Gold Scholar Awards for up to nine (9) continuous quarters (excluding summer quarters) at UW Bothell following your First Year, providing you maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter, and retain your nonresident status.
Important: This award can only be applied toward tuition expenses. The Purple and Gold Awards will be applied to the tuition balance after first applying Federal aid and other scholarship dollars.
