Scholarships

At the University of Washington Bothell, we are committed to helping you make your dreams of becoming a Husky true! We know that you have worked hard to get to this point in your educational career and that college can be expensive. That is why we want to reward your hard work and help you get to college!  The following are Merit Scholarships that we can offer to prospective high school students.


WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENTS

First Year Students

Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship

Applicants will be considered for a $7,500 Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship ($2,500 per term for a maximum of 3 consecutive quarters) if they:

  • Submit their application for admission and required documents by the priority application date of January 15.
  • Have a 3.6 cumulative GPA or higher (high school and transfer credit if applicable) and SAT (CR & M) of 1100 or ACT Composite of 24.
  • Are a Washington State Resident and U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher and earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter.

UW Bothell Diversity Scholar Award

The UW Bothell Diversity Scholar Award is a privately supported scholarship by the generous contributions of many individuals, organizations, and local businesses, including Costco, Chateau Ste. Michelle, and Safeco. This scholarship will be awarded to a high-achieving underrepresented minority student who will be entering the University as a first year student.

Transfer Students

Applicants admitted to an academic program will be considered for up to a $1,000 per quarter (maximum of 3 consecutive quarters) Merit Scholarship if they:

  • Apply by the priority application date for the academic program you wish to enroll.
  • Are offered admission to an academic program.
  • Have a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA or higher.
  • Are a Washington State Resident and U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident.

Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher and earn at least 12-graded credits per quarter.


OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS

For students that are United States citizens or permanent residents but are not residents of the state of Washington, UW Bothell offers Purple & Gold Scholar Awards. Submit your completed admissions application by the priority application deadline

PURPLE ($7,000)
GPA: 3.0 to 3.49 on a 4.0 scale
SAT/ACT: 1000 (CR + M)/22

GOLD ($15,000)
GPA: 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
SAT/ACT: 1100 (CR + M)/24

No separate scholarship application is required. This is a renewable, merit-based scholarship.
