Unofficial International Credential Evaluation Request

UW Bothell provides unofficial international credential evaluations* to help prospective students, who have attended secondary or post-secondary institutions outside the U.S., plan how their education may be applied toward UW Bothell admission and degree requirements.

*Note: The unofficial credential evaluation does not guarantee an admission offer or transfer credits and cannot be used for any other purposes or institutions including UW Seattle/Tacoma -- this is a planning tool only.

Steps to request an Unofficial International Credential Evaluation

  1. Gather the following document(s) – Documents must be in English:
    • Prospective First Year Student
      • Transcript(s) from each secondary institution attended (9 – 12th grade)
    • Prospective Transfer/Post-baccalaureate Student
      • Transcript(s) from each post-secondary institution attended (Note: Include U.S. post-secondary transcripts, if applicable)
      • Diploma, if applicable
      • Course description/syllabus for each course taken outside the U.S. that you believe fulfills a program prerequisite, if applicable
  2. Complete the Request for an Unofficial International Credential Evaluation form
  3. Email all the above document(s) together to uwbinfo@uw.edu

Next steps

  1. Document review will not begin until all documents are received by the Office of Admissions via email
  2. Allow 5-10 business days from the date documents are received in the Office of Admissions
  3. A UW Bothell Admissions Advisor will email you with results and further academic advising

Helpful Tips

  • Carefully follow the above steps to avoid delaying your results.
  • Make sure your documents are complete, clear, and legible.
  • Transcripts must show: all subjects taken, grades received for each subject, and for each year you were in the program/institution.
  • Do not submit third party evaluations (such as FIS or WES). These are not transcripts and will not be accepted.
