What You Need to Apply

Be sure you have the following items as you start your online application:

  • Personal Information: Name, date of birth, permanent and mailing address, email address, phone number, residency and citizenship information, parent/guardian information, income and household size.
  • Educational Information: High school name, graduation date (or anticipated graduation date), college or university names, including dates attended.
  • Course Grid (First Years Only): As part of the application process, you will need to complete our course grid. This grid includes all of your high school course work until this point, and your projected classes for the rest of your 12th grade year. If you are a Running Start or College in the High School student, be sure to list this on the application by indicating the college or university name.
  • Transcripts: If you have received college level credit, an official transcript from that institution must be sent to the Admissions Office. Transcripts must be submitted in the original sealed envelope in order to be considered official. If you attended a Washington State Community or Technical College, please have your transcript(s) sent directly from the college electronically. More information can be found on the Transcripts page.
  • Payment: The online application fee can be paid with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover) or with an electronic check (U.S. banks only). An application fee waiver can also be requested.

The University of Washington Bothell uses an online application system. Before you begin your application, you must create an account. Click on the application types below to start your application.

First Year Application

Applicants that have not attended a college or university following the summer of their high school graduation (includes Running Start, IB, AP, and College in the High School).

Application Requirements:

  1. Completion of College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADR’s)
  2. Official high school transcripts only if you attended high school outside the U.S., you are homeschooled, or you have already graduated from high school
  3. One (1) official transcript from any colleges attended (if applicable)
    NoteIf you've attended a Washington state community college(s), please have your transcript sent directly from the community college electronically, not faxed.
  4. Official test scores (with the writing sections) from SAT (school code: 4467) or ACT (school code: 4497) sent directly from the testing agency

Steps to Application Completion:

  1. Create an account and start your First Year Application
  2. Log in and complete your First Year Application
  3. Complete your Activities Log and Personal Statement

Application Priority Dates

Transfer Application

Applicants who have attended a college or university after high school graduation (summer excluded), who have not earned a bachelor's degree.

Application Requirements:

  • Completion of University Core Subject Requirements
  • Personal statement
  • Resume (Business and Nursing Applicants only)
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (Nursing and T-Cert Applicants only)
  • One (1) official transcript from each college or university attended
    NoteIf you have attended a Washington State community college(s), please have your transcript sent directly from the community college electronically, not faxed.
  • One (1) official high school transcript
  • Official SAT or ACT scores (only if you have less than 40 transferable credits)

Returning Student Application

This application is for students previously enrolled at UW Bothell who wish to re-enroll in order to complete a bachelor's degree.

Post-Baccalaureate Application

Applicants that have earned a bachelor's degree but who are not seeking admission to a Master's program (K-8 Teacher Certification applicants should use this application).

Please Note: UW Bothell now receives electronic transcripts from eScrip-Safe and Docufide. If your institution uses either of these providers, please have your official transcript sent electronically; if you are unsure, please contact your school directly. Submission of electronic transcripts will receive priority processing.
