Institutional Assessment

Welcome to Institutional Research Page

In 2006 the UWB Academic Council implemented an assessment plan intended to support the mission of the University of Washington Bothell.   Initially the plan was directed solely towards our first ever Frosh class.  In 2007 the Council expanded the research and assessment plan to include the entire campus.  Data for institutional assessment is currently gathered under the supervision of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs or through the Registrar's office to facilitate six purposes:

Purpose 1:  Improve Recruitment and Admission

Purpose 2:  Improve Program Planning

Purpose 3:  Improve Student Retention and Advising

Purpose 4:  Assess and Improve the Quality of the Student Experience at UWB

Purpose 5:  Assess and Improve Student Learning

Purpose 6:  Assess and Outcomes and Impacts of UWB Attendance

The starting point for institutional research and assessment must be UWB's stated mission, vision and core values. Together these statements make a remarkable statement that aims to produce transformative learning, engaged scholarship transcending disciplinary lines, and an inclusive scholarship.  Notably, these objectives are pursued by holding the student-faculty relationship paramount.
