Program Curriculum

Electives

(20 elective credits)

In addition to the core curriculum, MAPS students have the opportunity to take elective courses in policy areas that interest them. They may do so by taking courses in MAPS, Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, or another UWB program such as Nursing, Education or Business. If they so choose, students may take one or more of their elective courses at the UW Seattle campus and may also become engaged in a study abroad policy course or field experience. Policy areas represented at UWB are as follows:

  1. Technology policy
  2. Human rights policy
  3. Labor and human resources policy
  4. Environment and energy policy
  5. Development policy
  6. Health policy
  7. Education policy
  8. Culture policy

NOTE: Students wishing to receive MAPS elective credit for courses taken in other departments (either at UW Bothell or Seattle) must fill out a Request for Outside Coursework form (available here) and obtain faculty approval.
